Announcements for Thu. 9/29/2016

  • Wristbands for the dance this Friday will be available during all lunches today only.  You must have a signed permission slip and paid PTA membership to receive the wristband.
  • Both Shine Girls and Man Power applications are due by tomorrow.  See your counselor for applications. 
  • Any student interested in ASL (American Sign Language), please stop by the security desk for an application. 
  • Students, if you are interested in joining JS2S, it is not too late.  JS2S will have its next meeting at 8am in the chorus room tomorrow morning.  Current members and officers who signed up to bring something for the meeting, please remember to do so. 
  • Debate Club will meet next Wednesday, October 5th afterschool in room B-14.  You will learn the different components of being a debater. 
  • Preorder your yearbook now for the lowest price of the year, $40, and receive up to 4 free icons with an order of personalization, which is an additional $6.  Order forms are available through your homeroom, in the library, and in the main office.  Prices go up soon so don’t delay!

  • The JET HANGER (the big blue box) will be open for business this Friday, September 30th and then every Tuesday and Friday after that.  Get your school supplies and much more at great prices!

This program begins on Monday, September 26th and will continue for 12 weeks. There will also be snacks, prizes, and other fun things to do! Please see your school counselor or Mrs. Pfeifer for an application. Applications are due by next FRIDAY, September 30th so pick one up today!!!!

  • Students who plan to attend the dance and have purchased a PTA membership, must have a signed permission slip to receive a dance wristband. Wristbands will be distributed tomorrow and Thursday during lunches.
  • SMILE…Thursday is picture day.  All students should have received a picture day form, if you did not please ask your homeroom teacher for a form.  Students who wish to purchase a picture packet must have the form and check or money order on Thursday and students will give that form and payment directly to the photographer when the picture is taken.  Students should NOT turn in any picture forms or money to teachers.

Sports News:
•             The boys soccer team lost a tough one 4-2 to Lynnhaven Middle last night.  Both goals were scored by Ian Vitha with an assist by Kaden Sawyer.  Come support the boys on Monday as they face Brandon Middle at home.
•             Congratulations to the girls soccer team for their stunning victory over Lynnhaven Middle yesterday!  The offense was fantastic thanks to Gracie Mullins and Ahmaya Ortiz.  And the defense was solid thanks to hard work from Malia Brink, Samantha Smith and Kayla Backus.  Excellent job girls soccer team!!!

  • Cinderella has a long lost twin brother, Bob, who lives in the same kingdom as Cinderella.  Bob lives with an evil stepfather and evil step brothers.  Join the fun and audition for the CLMS One-Act Play, Twinderella, today and tomorrow, September 7 and 8 at 4:00pm in the auditorium.
  • The library is open for checkout for 7th and 8th graders.  Make sure you have your planner signed!  6th graders, we will see you soon!
  • If you completed a reading log for our summer reading program, please be sure to turn it in by the end of the day Friday in the library.

  • Wristbands for the dance this Friday will be available during all lunches today only.  You must have a signed permission slip and paid PTA membership to receive the wristband.
  • Both Shine Girls and Man Power applications are due by tomorrow.  See your counselor for applications. 
  • Any student interested in ASL (American Sign Language), please stop by the security desk for an application. 
  • Students, if you are interested in joining JS2S, it is not too late.  JS2S will have its next meeting at 8am in the chorus room tomorrow morning.  Current members and officers who signed up to bring something for the meeting, please remember to do so. 
  • Debate Club will meet next Wednesday, October 5th afterschool in room B-14.  You will learn the different components of being a debater.

Sports News:
•             The boys soccer team lost a tough one 4-2 to Lynnhaven Middle last night.  Both goals were scored by Ian Vitha with an assist by Kaden Sawyer.  Come support the boys on Monday as they face Brandon Middle at home.
•             Congratulations to the girls soccer team for their stunning victory over Lynnhaven Middle yesterday!  The offense was fantastic thanks to Gracie Mullins and Ahmaya Ortiz.  And the defense was solid thanks to hard work from Malia Brink, Samantha Smith and Kayla Backus.  Excellent job girls soccer team!!!

The first FCCLA informational meeting will be tomorrow, September 14th after school in D-09. You must have parental permission to attend. 
Attention all students and staff:  FCCLA is now collecting all of those wonderful toiletries you collected from your summer trips for the homeless. You may drop off any items to Mrs. Pugh in D-09.
Attention students:  The Back-to-school dance is on Friday, September 23rd!  Get a free dance ticket by joining the PTA for $7.  The deadline to join and get a free ticket is this Friday, the 16th. Transportation will be provided after the dance.  Forms are available in the main office.  Don’t delay – get your ticket today!
SCA Homeroom Representatives will be chosen on Tuesday, September 20th in your homeroom.  Let your teacher know if you wish to run for the position.  The Reps make up our SCA General Assembly who helps to plan things, informs their classes of current event, and votes on things like dances and fundraisers.  This year, you will also be paired with a 6th grader so you can share your middle school wisdom with them and help them transition!
Attention JETS:  Would you like to learn more about diversity? Are you ready to be the first FRIENDLY face new students will see at CLMS? Are you willing to go out of your way to make sure new students feel welcome within our school? If this sounds like something you would be interested in, come to our first JS2S meeting tomorrow after school in the choir room. We are looking for students from all grades, 6-8.

  • If you are interested in applying for the JET News Crew, pick up an application outside the library.  All applications are due by Thursday, September 15th.  You may drop them off in the library.  Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.  If you are selected, you will be notified of the audition date held afterschool.
  • Sand Sculpting Club signups will be today, tomorrow, and Wednesday.  The signup sheets will be located at the security desk outside of the cafeteria.
  • Anyone interested in DANCE FITNESS club please stop by Mrs. Bar’s security desk today to pick up an interest form. This is your last day to pick up a form.  All forms are due by tomorrow.  We will be meeting on Wednesday, the 14th.

  • Cinderella has a long lost twin brother, Bob, who lives in the same kingdom as Cinderella.  Bob lives with an evil stepfather and evil step brothers.  Join the fun and audition for the CLMS One-Act Play, Twinderella, today and tomorrow, September 7 and 8 at 4:00pm in the auditorium.
  • The library is open for checkout for 7th and 8th graders.  Make sure you have your planner signed!  6th graders, we will see you soon!
